Schoolboy is one of youngest to achieve black belt hat-trick
Schoolboy Aiden Webber has proved he’s a right little belter after becoming one of the youngest martial arts students in the country to gain the prestigious 3rd Degree level in black belt.
The 11-year-old from Deepcut joined Precision Martial Arts when he was just four. With a natural aptitude and flexibility for martial arts, Aiden gained his first black belt (1st Degree) aged eight. He quickly achieved his 2nd Degree and after that, it was full steam ahead for his black belt hat-trick. Master Bernard is convinced Aiden is the youngest to achieve this. “Statistically only four per cent of students achieve black belt status and only 14 per cent of the initial four per cent reach the 3rd Degree level that young Aiden has,” he said. “We believe Aiden is the youngest in the country to achieve this level and we are very proud of him.” Aiden’s mother Freia, who joined Precision four years ago gaining her 2nd Degree black belt, said: “He loves is martial arts and has won countless trophies in competitions up and down the country. But to think he could be the youngest in the country to get to this level in black belt is amazing. We are so proud of him.” She added: “Aiden wants to be an actor and would love to incorporate martial arts into his acting. In fact, he wants to be the next Jackie Chan.” Aiden’s ambition to become an all-action-hero on the big screen is taking shape. The Surrey schoolboy is currently at London’s exclusive Celebrity Talent Academy (CTA) renowned for training professional actors for film, stage and TV. His move to CTA follows eight years at Stagecoach, a performing arts school for four to 18-year-olds. Mrs Webber said: “Aiden enjoys acting and this is taking up a lot of his time, but he doesn’t want to give up his martial arts. Master Bernard has been his mentor and he has learned a lot from him. He aspires to be like him.” She added: “We joined Precision as a family and it has been a wonderful experience. It is very structured, and it teaches students discipline, control and respect for others. You learn to become a better person.” On January 24, Aiden will receive his 3rd Degree black belt at the glittering Precision Martial Arts graduation ceremony at Camberley Theatre. And when he does, his mother Freia, father Ady, seven-year-old brother Connor and sister Keira, four, will be in the audience watching. Aiden will also get the chance to showcase all he has learned at Precision including kickboxing, weapons training and extreme martial arts. Precision students receiving their 1st Degree black belts during the Sunday ceremony are nine-year-old Charlie Langley and 32-year-old Jamie Hill both from Sandhurst, Jackie Vandenberg, aged 34, and 39-year-old Myak Homberger from Camberley.
