Companies at The Heath thrive and grow when they work together

Companies at The Heath are benefiting from the networking opportunities being based at the award-winning business and technical park offers, with firms finding solutions to their needs and new clients among its residents.

In the three-and-a-half years since its launch, Clearlink HR has grown from a one-woman enterprise at the dining room table to an office at The Heath, then to larger premises on site last year, to accommodate the now four-strong team of HR consultants and business manager.

It provides HR support to small and medium-sized businesses, helping them to manage changes in their workforce, solve problems and offer management training and guidance on employment policies and procedures.

For Managing Director and Portfolio HR Director Catherine Lockett, pictured right, The Heath has proven a valuable ally in achieving her goals.

“We have been very well looked after by The Heath,” says Catherine. “It’s well placed with good transport links, it is a well maintained and green site which, I think, clients are impressed by when they visit, and the on-site facilities — including the conference facility and business lounge — mean we can meet clients easily. The restaurant is obviously convenient and serves good food, but also provides an opportunity to meet people from other businesses here.

“It often hosts business showcases, and we have taken advantage of that to hold a ‘Good Employer Roadshow’ bringing our network of associated businesses, such as occupational health and a local employment lawyer, to meet people here.”

Catherine first met Polymorph, an IT services company based at The Heath, via its own showcase in the restaurant. With Clearlink HR expanding, a bigger office and more people, she really needed more comprehensive IT and to develop its identity and branding.

Polymorph was able to meet all of Catherine’s IT needs, and carried out a lot of design work which has now been adopted across Clearlink HR’s signage, stationery and website. From that work, Polymorph has now become a client of Clearlink HR.

“HR can be a sensitive area, so we often find that company bosses need time to get to know us and trust us before they actually become clients,” says Catherine. “Being on the same site and then working with us gave Polymorph the opportunity to build that relationship with us, and now we provide HR services for them. We would really like to meet more businesses here, and see if we can help them too.”

Lesley Lunt, Sales and Marketing Manager at The Heath, said: “The Heath is full of thriving businesses all offering services of value to fellow residents, and the collaboration between Clearlink HR and Polymorph is just one such example. The opportunities are certainly here for the taking!”
