Love Frocks scoops new business award
Love Frocks, a resident at The Heath Business and Technical Park in Runcorn, has won its first accolade at a community awards ceremony.
The company, owned by independent fashion designer Natalie Beard, received the New Business Award at the recent 107.2 Wire FM Awards 2009. The glittering ceremony, hosted by Matt Lane, a presenter at the radio station, was held at Stobart Stadium Halton and supported by Golden Square Shopping Centre. With performances from Beverley Knight and new girl group Bubbel G, the annual event celebrates the achievements of residents from Warrington, Widnes and Runcorn. Natalie said: “I am over the moon to have won and to be honoured at such a prestigious event. I was nominated by a fellow resident at The Heath and I am grateful to receive this recognition for the achievements I have accomplished since starting my business. “The service I provide is unique. It is more like a fashion design service as all my garments are made to measure. My boutique at The Heath is more of a drop-in studio rather than a conventional shop. I have many fans of my work including Emma Rigby who plays Hannah Ashworth from the popular television programme Hollyoaks. She was pictured wearing one of my dresses for a leaving party for Zoë Lister who plays Zoë Carpenter on the show.” After graduating with a degree in fashion design from Liverpool John Moores University in 2006, Natalie started her company from home and then moved to The Heath where she had a design studio and now has her own shop unit. Earlier in the year, Natalie wowed crowds with her Spring/Summer 09 collection at the New Designers Show at Liverpool Fashion Week. She also unveiled her Autumn/Winter 09 range at a dedicated fashion show at The Heath’s restaurant and function room with local models, DJs and dance group First Footers Dance performing.
