OMG! marks 10th anniversary of Alpha LSG's partnership with Thomas Cook Airlines

Thomas Cook Airlines' Cabin Crew and Managers have taken part in this year's OMG! Conference, Training and Awards event which marked the 10th anniversary of Alpha LSG becoming the airline's Inflight Retail partner.

175 members of Thomas Cook Airlines from the UK, Scandinavia and Germany attended the event held in Chester for a fun-packed programme of workshops and seminars to help grow inflight sales and reward outstanding performance.

Chloe Lerner, Alpha LSG's General Manager of Inflight Retail, said: “This year's OMG! was our most successful ever. We had the largest number of Thomas Cook Airlines crew taking part and the largest number of our supplier partners showcasing the very latest product innovations for sale

“Year-on-year record Inflight sales are being achieved for Thomas Cook Airlines. The OMG! Programme is a vital ingredient to this success where we can engage with and support the crew who are the front-line sales representatives. Over the past 10 years Alpha LSG has invested over £1 million in our crew engagement programme and we are seeing the results, through the consistently solid sales that are delivered.”

The two-day OMG! event involved a number of fun learning sessions including a "brand awareness" pub quiz which escalated into a YMCA disco dancing contest! It culminated in a stunning vintage glamour themed gala dinner with awards for the best performing cabin crew members.

The overall winner for 2019 who received a cheque for £1,000 was Nicola Allison who is based in Belfast. She was joined on stage by Richard Wood, Alpha LSG's UK Sales and Marketing Director; Christian Schmidt, Group Airline Director of Aviation Operations for Thomas Cook, and comedian Hal Cruttenden who hosted the evening.

Speaking at the awards dinner, Alan Hayes, Alpha LSG's Inflight Retail and Managed Services Director, said that since taking over the airline's retail programme in 2009 onboard sales have nearly doubled. He said the retail partnership between the two businesses has seen continued growth.

The Inflight Retail teams of Alpha LSG and Thomas Cook Airlines collaborate on all aspects of the service including marketing, social media, crew communications and onboard merchandising.
