Card Snobs gears up for busiest time of the year

Online greetings card retailer Card Snobs is gearing up for its busiest time of the year. Though Christmas and Valentine's Day are both hugely popular, they are trumped by Mother's Day which this year falls on Sunday, March 15th.

Card Snobs founder Linda Lewis says: “Since we launched our business, Mother’s Day has always been the occasion when customers are looking for a really special and bespoke card to send to their mums. We’re already taking orders for Mother’s Day and it’s still six weeks away!”

Since closing her popular shop in Childwall, Liverpool, last year to transition to a new e-commerce website, Card Snobs has recently moved to a new design studio at Speke Business Park in South Liverpool.

At the moment Card Snobs’ design team is focused on Valentine’s Day and will be promoting the operation to residents of the business park in the run-up to February 14th with a ‘pop-up shop’ in the Park’s reception area to display their unique creations.
Since switching to an e-commerce operation Linda has seen plenty of activity on her new website but she says that her former shop customers are embracing the new format.
She says: “I did have concerns that by moving from the High Street to online that we may lose customers who like the personal one-to-one contact of coming into the shop to talk through their requirements. However, encouragingly, we have retained those special relationships with orders placed via text messages and emails as well as through our dedicated website which is really very simple to navigate.”
By moving online Linda says Card Snobs can grow its reputation for producing handcrafted bespoke designs, with the ability to now reach card connoisseurs and enthusiasts across the UK and overseas.
She adds: “Card Snobs began life as a warm, welcoming high street card shop, where every customer was greeted by name and every card was chosen with care. As the way in which people shop has evolved, we have had to evolve with them in this digital world. We still offer the same personal service and creativity Card Snobs has become renowned for — but we are now more accessible than ever.
“We don’t mass-produce, every card is made by hand, with love. That’s the magic you can’t get from a factory. Our cards stand out because they’re not just cards, they’re heartfelt keepsakes made in our studio with care and creativity, making every piece feel truly personal.”

Card Snobs offer bespoke designed or ‘off-the-shelf’ signature greetings cards for every occasion from Birthdays, Christmas and Easter to Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Valentine’s Day and Weddings plus congratulations cards for a new birth, a new job, a new home, passing an exam, graduations and much more.

Linda, a mother of two who lives in Rainhill, Merseyside, says: “Whether you're 18 or 80, the website is easy to navigate, and we’ll be adding fresh designs regularly to keep things exciting and current. When you order from us, you’re not just buying a card, you’re receiving a piece of art created by someone who genuinely loves what they do. That’s a feeling you can’t replicate on a production line.”
