A few clicks turn magical moments into wonderful memories as Card Snobs move online

Greetings card retailer Card Snobs moves to a new online platform today after closing its popular shop in Childwall, Liverpool.

Card Snobs, renowned for producing handcrafted bespoke designs, transitions to a new e-commerce site to extend its reach to card connoisseurs and enthusiasts across the UK and overseas.
Card Snobs founder Linda Lewis says: “Since we opened in 2017, we’ve established ourselves as the ‘go-to’ place for unique personalised greetings cards and have built a strong and loyal following in and around Liverpool. Now, by transitioning from our shop to a totally online offering, we can serve our existing customers while reaching a bigger and more diverse audience who value the creativity and craftsmanship of bespoke greetings cards that are so difficult to source.
“Our new online platform is an exciting new chapter in the Card Snobs success story and will make us more accessible than ever.”
Card Snobs established itself as a local favourite where customers could buy charming and high quality greetings cards with bold designs, witty messages and trademark craftsmanship.

Mother-of-two Linda, who lives in Rainhill, Merseyside, says: “The shop was a huge part of my life and became very popular with the local community. However, moving online allows us to reach customers far beyond our local high street while still serving the loyal fans who’ve supported us for years. Every card is still handmade, still original, and still unmistakably ‘Card Snobs’.

“Unlike mass-produced greetings cards, every Card Snobs’ creation is crafted by hand and designed with personality and flair. Whether it's a cheeky birthday message, a heartfelt note, or a bold design statement, the cards are made to be noticed and remembered. Going on-line will now see customers making their own cards from our signature range, however for those very special occasions we will still offer our very unique design service.”

The new online shop features:
• A wide selection of handcrafted card designs for every occasion
• Custom and tailored ordering options
• Exclusive online-only collections
• Regular new releases and seasonal features

Linda says: “We don’t mass-produce, every card is made by hand, with love. That’s the magic you can’t get from a factory. Our cards stand out because they’re not just cards, they’re heartfelt keepsakes made in our workshop with care and creativity, making every piece feel truly personal.

“Whether it’s a new baby card featuring the little ones name, the date born, the weight, and the time of birth, a detail parents treasure forever, or a birthday card tailored to someone’s favourite car, we’re all about making moments unforgettable. It’s that attention to detail and one-of-a-kind design that keeps people coming back.”
Cards created by Card Snobs are so popular and so unique that customers can return their cards for a small fee for them to be framed as a keepsake. “We’ve introduced this service because so many customers told us the recipient was delighted with the card so much, they wanted to frame it! It’s a service other online card providers don’t offer,” adds Linda.

Linda grew up with a fascination for greetings cards: “I’ve always believed there’s a card for every little moment, even something as simple as a get well card when the kids had a cold. I suppose you could say I inherited the card obsession, or ‘card snobbery’, from my mum which is where the business name originates from. She never saw it as just buying a card; it was an experience. She’d take her time choosing the perfect one, and I’ve definitely followed in her footsteps.”

Though moving online, Linda is committed to her existing customers who have been used to coming into the shop. She says: “My existing customers are so important, over time they have become more like friends. They have been the heartbeat of Card Snobs and, as we begin this next chapter online, we’re doing everything to make sure they still feel that same warmth, creativity and care. It’s the same soul, just a new platform. We want them to feel like they’re still walking into our shop, only from the comfort of their sofa.”

Card Snobs has taken a year perfecting its new website to reflect the same personal touch. The online experience allows customers to select the same bespoke options and designs while keeping things simple and user-friendly. Standard greetings card can be purchased in just 4 clicks. However, by following some simple instructions, customers can design more intricate bespoke cards with personalised messages.
Linda says: “Whether you're 18 or 80, the website is easy to navigate, and we’ll be adding fresh designs regularly to keep things exciting and current. When you order from us, you’re not just buying a card, you’re receiving a piece of art created by someone who genuinely loves what they do. That’s a feeling you can’t replicate on a production line.”

Having studied art at college, Linda says designing cards was a natural way to bring her passion to life. She works alongside a small and close-knit but dedicated team of women who have been with her since day one.
“Each person brings creativity, passion, and a genuine love for what we do. We’re more than just colleagues, we’re a little family, and that energy goes into every card we create. Although we are evolving our business, we’re staying loyal to what made Card Snobs so special in the first place. Greetings cards are important in life. I feel it’s not just a card — it’s a keepsake, a memory and is a moment made to last.”
