Jarrovian helps hair care products firm raise funds to switch production to new hand sanitiser for frontline staff fight

Jarrovian Wealth has played a key role in providing specialist financial advice to a new business venture that is tackling the chronic shortage of hand sanitiser.

Herb UK, a natural hair colour manufacturer based in Lymington, Hampshire, and Conker Spirit, a Bournemouth gin distillery, have formed an unlikely relationship to make a hand sanitiser spray which is being made available for use by front line staff in the UK fighting the Coronavirus.

Herb UK founder and Managing Director Raoul Perfitt (pictured right) says his company had the facilities to make the hand sanitiser but needed large quantities of ethanol for the process. He says: “I thought, who better to get ethanol from than the local gin distillery. So, I gave them a call.”
Conker Spirit founder Rupert Holloway quickly agreed to supply the denatured ethanol which forms the base of the hand sanitiser - a product he says the nation is screaming out for.
“I’m delighted we can support the production of such a desperately needed product,” Mr Holloway says. “Collaboration may well be what pulls our country through this difficult time.”
The first batch of hand sanitiser was bottled on March 30th for distribution…just seven days after the two SME companies joined forces.
Herb UK’s sanitisers are being distributed to businesses, community stores, hospitals and pharmacists in the local Lymington area. But as more rolls off the production line it will be available for essential service operations across the UK.
Mr Perfitt says despite the devastating effects of Covid-19 it is uplifting to be part of a business collaboration making a genuine difference though he needed specialist financial advice to help get his venture off the ground.

He said: “Adam Young at Jarrovian Wealth has been advising me over the last 18 years and has always been extremely helpful, especially in times such as these when you need action and clear thought processes. Adam and the Jarrovian team have helped us in realising the capital we urgently required to allow Herb UK to invest in new filling equipment to meet the unprecedent demand for our new Hand Sanitisers.”
Adam Young, a founding Director of Jarrovian Wealth, says: “Acting quickly during these tough times to find a way to provide frontline services with essential products is vital if we are to get through this. And this is where smaller businesses can come into their own, they are much better placed to be able to turn things around quickly.

“However, firms need to ensure they get all of the elements in place to enable everything to run smoothly - and that includes the financial side of things. Whether that’s funding for new equipment, packaging or to employ extra staff. We were delighted to play our part in helping this process along.”
