The Heath's Catering Team helps the vulnerable during COVID19 Crisis

The Heath's Events and Catering Manager Anthony Stonebanks is leading a scheme to help the community's most vulnerable people with a supply of specially created hampers.

Anthony contacted Bredbury Catering Butchers to ask if they could prepare meat hampers which he and The Heath could use to support onsite residents and elderly and vulnerable people in the community.

The hampers, supplied at cost price by Bredbury’s and sold at cost price by The Heath, are £40 and include 8 thick pork sausages, 4 x chicken fillets, 1 x 500g
diced beef stew, 2 x 500g minced beef, 4 x 8oz hand pressed beef burgers, 2 x 1lb back bacon, 1 x 3g dry fusilli pasta and 6 eggs.

One hundred hampers have already been sold, with The Heath being supported by local taxi driver Nicola Bellfield who is delivering packs to elderly and isolated people free of charge.

In addition The Heath has bought other items including milk, eggs, pasta and tinned foods and toilet roll which are also available to buy at cost price, and limited in the number each person can purchase.

“All of the items that we are selling are going out at cost price. We are not making a penny on this as I believe that we need to help our local community in this time of need,” says Anthony.

Anthony has managed to reach more than 17,000 people through Facebook, adding: “We have the full support of John Lewis, Managing Director of The Heath’s owner’s SOG Ltd, which is amazing and I can confirm that we will be doing more meat hampers next week.”

Orders must be placed through The Heath’s conference team on 01928 513365 by 1pm for next day delivery. Orders are limited to one pack per household.

The hampers are being created for vulnerable members of the community first, but the products will also be sold at The Heath Café onsite for those who are available to visit.
