Alpha LSG wins Beijing Capital Airlines' Heathrow contract

Alpha LSG has been awarded a two year contract to service Beijing Capital Airlines flights out of London-Heathrow to Qingdao in the People's Republic of China.

The new route was launched in November with Alpha LSG supplying the airline with two hot meals and a snack for the 11 hour long flight to Qingdao, which is the 10th largest city in China with a population of over nine million people. Initially, Alpha LSG will service two flights each week but the airline hopes to be able to increase the numbers of flights in the future.

Alex Forbes, Alpha LSG’s CEO (pictured right), says: “A key element enabling us to secure this important contract is our ability to supply Beijing Capital Airlines with high-quality authentic Chinese cuisine across both Business and Economy classes. Beijing Capital Airlines arrival into Heathrow is highly significant as it is the first airline of the HNA Group to operate into London’s Heathrow Airport, and we are delighted to have been selected to service them with their catering requirements.”
Alpha LSG is already in the midst of a three-year contract with Tianjin Airlines, another Chinese carrier part of the HNA Group, which operates from Gatwick twice a week.
As part of inflight catering tradition, Alpha LSG presented a cake to the crew of Beijing Capital Airline’s inaugural flight to mark the occasion.
