Sunny selfies to perfectly capture Blenheim Palace Flower Show

Visitors to the Blenheim Palace Flower Show are guaranteed of a perfectly sunny selfie to remember the day by, thanks to a stunning floral arch created by award-winning designer Mig Kimpton.

This large new feature celebrates an ingredient that is essential to the success of the show for visitors and gardeners alike — sunshine! And Mig (pictured right), a multi awarding-winning RHS medallist, freelance floral designer and horticultural advisor to show organisers Aztec Events, is urging visitors to take advantage of this chance to snap a sunny selfie in his specially designed setting.

“It’s a great pleasure to ensure that the sun will shine on this year’s Blenheim Palace Flower Show, through the wonderful floral arch I am creating using a large selection of yellow and orange flowers, some of them grown locally,” says Mig.

TV personality Alan Titchmarsh will open the show on Friday, June 23, and will present the ‘Best in Show’ award selected by the judges led by Celebrity gardener and eight times Chelsea Gold Medal Winner Jim Butress. Jim will also be presenting the Gold, Silver Gilt, Silver and Bronze awards.

Nick Bailey, garden writer, broadcaster and head gardener at Chelsea Physic Garden, London will also be taking part at this year’s event along with show highlights that include exhibits by the National Dahlia Society, New Forest Hosta & Hermercallis and the RHS Gold Medal winners from Chelsea Flower Show, Craig House Cacti.

The Grow Your Own Stage, located within the Grand Floral Pavilion, will feature talks from a range of Royal Horticultural Society experts throughout the show, and the National Association of Flower Arrangement Societies will be holding workshops and demonstrations within its Floral Pavilion for visitors to enjoy.

Be sure to book in advance to take afternoon tea or a two course set menu lunch, or enjoy refreshments on the day at Searcys Champagne Bar, Blenheim Palace’s Water Terrace Café, Oxfordshire Pantry or Pleasure Gardens Deli.

Then, enjoy exploring the wares of over 300 exhibitors specialising in home garden, craft and gift products in the stunning grounds of Blenheim Palace, in Woodstock, Oxfordshire.
