Celebrity gardeners at Blenheim Palace

Celebrity gardeners Nick Bailey and Jim Buttress to appear at Blenheim Palace Flower Show 2017

Nick Bailey, Head Gardener at Chelsea Physic Garden, London, and
Jim Buttress, The People’s Gardener, have joined the celebrity line-up for the Blenheim Palace Flower Show 2017.

Nick a popular garden writer, broadcaster, garden designer and lecturer, will be taking centre stage in the Talk Theatre on Saturday, June 24th to give visitors a fascinating insight into his role at Chelsea Physic Garden where he has worked since 2010. The BBC Gardeners’ World presenter fulfilled a childhood dream last year when he made his debut at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show and his Winton Beauty of Mathematics Show Garden was awarded a silver-gilt.

He is currently working on a new book following the success of ‘365 Days of Colour in Your Garden’ which offers advice to enthusiasts on maintaining a colourful display all year around.

Jim celebrity judge on BBC Two’s The Big Allotment Challenge, will be entertaining visitors in the Talk Theatre on Friday, June 23rd, the show’s opening day. An eight-time Chelsea Gold Medal winner Jim is a renowned horticulturist who has spent his life in the gardening world. He is a radio broadcaster and author of The People’s Gardener — a book published last year charting his amazing career in the Royal Parks and his golden flower show successes.

Topping the line-up at Blenheim Palace this year is the nation’s favourite gardener Alan Titchmarsh who will officially open the show which runs from June 23-25. Alan rose to fame as the main presenter of Gardeners’ World and has written over 50 gardening books.

Blenheim Palace Flower Show is a celebration of horticultural expertise and features the largest ever Grand Floral Pavilion, brimming with floral displays and specialist plants.
Over 300 exhibitors specialising in home, garden, craft and gift products and accessories will fill the stunning grounds at this historic site in Woodstock, Oxfordshire.

Visitors will also be able to enjoy a huge range of delicious foods. Book in advance to take afternoon tea or a two course set menu lunch, or find refreshment on the day at Searcys Champagne Bar, Blenheim Palace’s Water Terrace Cafe, Oxfordshire Pantry or Pleasure Gardens Deli.
