Outstanding sales performance by Monarch Cabin Crew rewarded at Alpha LSG's OMG! event

Monarch Cabin Crew have attended the fourth annual OMG! Conference, Training and Awards event staged by Alpha LSG in recognition of outstanding in-flight sales performance.

A two-day seminar held at the De Vere Cotswolds Water Park Hotel, Cirencester, on January 24/25th was attended by 88 of Monarch’s best-performing cabin crew. They took part in a dynamic training course and conference, co-ordinated by Alpha LSG’s retail sales team, which culminated in the OMG! Awards ceremony to recognise the sales achievements of the Cabin Crew.

Richard Wood, Alpha LSG’s UK Sales and Marketing Director, (pictured right) hosted the evening and was joined on stage by Ian Chambers, Monarch’s Chief Commercial Officer, and Chloe Lerner, Alpha LSG’s General Manager — In-flight Retail, (pictured below) who presented the main awards.

Mr Wood said Monarch’s Cabin Crew had achieved remarkable success during 2016 despite much political and economic turmoil that had sent shockwaves through the industry. He said Alpha LSG’s partnership with Monarch had “flourished and produced outstanding results despite the challenges”.
Mr Wood added that the collaboration between Alpha LSG and Monarch continues to grow with exciting new developments being introduced to the retail programme to ensure future long-term success.

He said: “We are now in dialogue with your customers before they depart through online channels, social media and e-mails — talking about the top-sellers, new products, and promotions and why they need to buy onboard — really engaging into the phenomenal service that you deliver day in day out. We’re also launching new digital innovations, with interactive screens being installed into crew rooms.
“These screens are an exciting new way of providing information and up-to-the-minute news about the world of in-flight retail, top selling tips, and much more. These are another great step forward in keeping the crew well informed about how we are doing and simply what is happening. And of course — the developments around the retail programme don’t stop there. We are working together on many more new initiatives, exciting plans and new brands across 2017.”
Mr Wood added that Monarch’s Cabin Crew were in the front line and had exceeded ‘spend per-head’ targets during 2016 thanks to excellent customer engagement and dedicated sales performance. He said the OMG! Conference, Training and Awards Event was aimed at supporting Cabin Crew through fun and informative seminars while recognising and rewarding their remarkable achievements.
“OMG! is all about recognition. Thousands of Monarch flights depart with your commitment, effort and focus on in-flight sales onboard. It takes so many of you to drive and deliver the wonderful sales results that we see and we believe at OMG! it is important to reward and recognise as many people as possible for their sales efforts…not just one or two,” Mr Wood told the audience.
