OMG! Alpha LSG rewards Monarch's top in-flight sellers

Alpha LSG will be hosting its third OMG! Conference, Training and Awards for Monarch this week to recognise its best in-flight sales cabin crew.

Designed to help improve service to customers and deliver even better commercial results for the airline, the OMG! Conference and Awards will be the culmination of a two-day reward and recognition ‘Summer Garden’ event being held at the Beaumont Estate Hotel in Windsor on 1-2 March.

Over the two action-packed days 70 of Monarch’s’ best performing cabin crew and regional management will engage with the Alpha LSG in-flight retail team who, along with their suppliers, will showcase this summer’s product ranges during various energising ‘brand immersion sessions’.

They will also attend workshops in public speaking to help engage and confidently lead sales as well as take part in commercially-focused team-building activities such as a Masterchef and a Catwalk Challenge — designed to creatively motivate and display the brands that Monarch sells, while offering an appreciation that they are responsible for their customers’ on-board experience.

In a series of fun events teams will have the opportunity of securing a Guinness World Record for ‘the tallest coin tower in one minute’ or ‘the fastest time to build a 10-layer coffee cup pyramid’, and individually to hold the title for ‘the most beer mats flipped in 30 seconds’.

Chloe Lerner, Alpha LSG’s General Manager - Inflight Retail, said: “Our retail partnership with Monarch has been reaping rewards since 2010. While we work hard together innovating and developing the products and services offered on board, it’s crucial to engage with the cabin crew to incentivise and reward their endeavours, as well as provide information and support to help them when they are speaking to their customers.”

She added: “We’re really looking forward to this OMG! Conference and Awards as it’s the culmination of over three months’ work to develop a high-energy and memorable event that creates tangible results. The cabin crew attending are already very good at what they do but we invest in their careers and personal development to energise and create a real buzz to get them thinking about how they can individually improve sales to meet their targets.

“We also really encourage our suppliers to interact with the cabin crew and to get into the details so they can actively live and breathe and bring the brands alive when they are talking to customers on board.”

After a black-tie ‘Enchanted Forest’ themed gala dinner the OMG! Awards will be presented to the ‘Top Sales Person’ while the airline’s top twenty best-selling cabin crew will receive double commission in recognition of their efforts. There will also be accolades for the ‘Team of the Year’ as well as a ‘Dedication to Incentives’ and an ‘OMG! Outstanding Positive Approach to learning and sales’ award that will be judged during the event.
