The 4Tunes debut UK tour moves on to Wales
Chesham, Bucks: February 12, 2016: The 4Tunes, who are mesmerising audiences with their breath-taking voices and stunning harmonies in their first UK tour, will be performing concerts in Wales during March.
The four-piece ensemble, which includes some of the West Ends finest leading men, will be appearing at the Blake Theatre, Monmouth on March 4th followed by the Grand Pavilion, Porthcawl on March 12th.
The Porthcrawl concert will be a return home for two of the quartet, lead singer Michael Conway and Owain Williams. They were brought up in the town and trained and performed at the Grand Pavilion in their youth before going on to appear in a host of top West End shows.
The 4Tunes, formed two years ago, have been entertaining on cruise ships but are now bringing their talent to a wider audience at shows around the UK, performing astounding versions of some of the most iconic songs spanning the worlds of pop, opera and musical theatre — including hits such as Les Miserables Bring him home, Queens Bohemian Rhapsody and Stevie Wonders Singed, sealed, delivered.
Michael Conway was born in Port Talbot but moved to Porthcawl when he was 12-years-old. As a teenager the singer, who was inspired to become an entertainer by his cousin, Hollywood movie star Michael Sheen, frequently appeared at the Grand Pavilion with Porthcawl Comprehensive School and the Bridgend Youth Theatre. He performed in shows including Cabaret, Crazy for You, Sweet Charity, 42nd Street, Gypsy and Sweeney Todd.
Michael, who spent a number of years in the West Ends critically acclaimed Jersey Boys as a swing and cover for Frankie Valli, said: Were delighted to be touring the UK in 2016 and Im particularly delighted to be appearing on stage again in Porthcawl where I have so many marvellous childhood memories.
Weve had such great feedback from our audiences who have seen our performances since we started the quartet two years ago. Last year we entertained audiences on 48 cruises so this tour offers a chance for people throughout the UK to see the finest collection of male voices in an awe-inspiring show.
Owain Williams, originally from Carmarthen in South West Wales, was bitten by the showbiz bug when he was just four-years-old when he appeared on stage at the Urdd Eisteddfod. He went on to become a regular competitor at the cultural festival before joining the Carmarthen & District Youth Opera.
He was accepted to the prestigious Royal Academy of Music, and was awarded a scholarship from the Welsh Arts Council and HRH The Prince of Wales to fund his studies. As part of the scholarship, Owain performed at an intimate dinner at Cardiff Castle for The Prince of Wales.
He has appeared in numerous productions including The Phantom of the Opera (West End), Merrily We Roll Along (Clwyd Theatr Cymru), and a Welsh Dick Whittington opposite Barbara Windsor in Bristol. A personal highlight was being a part of the 25th Anniversary production of Les Misérables, opening at the Wales Millenium Centre before embarking on a year-long tour that came to an end at the O2 Arena in London with a cast of 500 artists and musicians. He now presents S4Cs flagship youth magazine show, TAG
