GIG…fyi unites with other suppliers to support MSF this Christmas

Chesham, Bucks: December 22, 2015: GIG…fyi joined forces with a number of suppliers to bring some festive cheer to the staff of international aid organisation Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders (MSF).

For the second year, Global Infusion Group’s bespoke corporate & private party planning, catering and event design division was appointed by long-standing client Proper Productions to support MSF’s Christmas party, which was held at the London School of Economics’ Saw Swee Hock Students Union on Friday, 18 December.

GIG…fyi (feeding your imagination) donated furniture, drinks, glasses and pie and mash for the 130 staff who provide assistance across the globe to people in distress, victims of natural or man-made disasters or armed conflict irrespective of gender, race, religion, creed or their political convictions. It also provided staff to assist the event at cost.

Other suppliers to quickly lend their support included KNM Catering who provided West African delicacies and food and Planet of the Grapes who donated a full bar, which also featured two mini kegs of beer provided by Haresfoot Brewery free of charge.

MSF staff enjoyed lager provided by the Colin Kennedy Academy Music Group and DJ Tom Hackley with atmospheric lighting supplied by PRG. Aylesbury Carriers also supported the charity’s annual party by providing one of its Sprinter couriers free of charge.

Katy Turner, Operations Manager for GIG...fyi, said: “We were delighted to get involved in MSF’s Christmas party for the second year. We take our corporate social responsibility very seriously so it’s great to be able to give something back to inspirational charities like MSF who work tirelessly to carry out lifesaving work around the world.”

She added: “It’s also always great to work alongside Proper Productions. We have a fantastic relationship, which has been built over 20 years working on a number of high profile events including the AEG Barclaycard British Summertime Festival at Hyde Park since it began in 2012.”

Vickie Hawkins, Executive Director, MSF UK, said: “Throughout the year most of our team are working in one of the over 60 countries around the world, some of them are there now providing healthcare in the midst of the conflict, while others are along the escape routes and in the camps that house people fleeing the many conflicts that threaten their lives. So it is wonderful for us to have this time together: to remember the successes - an end (at long last) to the Ebola outbreak, and re-energise ourselves for the challenges of in the New Year. Mark, Harry, Katy and their teams' made this a special MSF-family night for us.”

In addition to its work for MSF, Global Infusion Group also actively supports Nordoff Robbins, Iain Rennie, Cooper Kenya Trust, Great Ormond Street Hospital & Toy Bank Chesham. Most recently its Bonnie May Events division has assisted the Pepper Foundation & Hector’s House
