Neptunus helps to create an artistic masterpiece

Northampton: June 25, 2015: Masterpiece London returns to the capital with Neptunus providing impressive temporary galleries to form a spectacular showcase for works of fine art, antiques and design from around the world.

Last year Masterpiece London saw over £100 million worth of art sold and over 35,000 visitors during the eight-day fair that offers an unparalleled opportunity to buy or admire the amazing works for sale.

This year’s event is being staged at the Royal Hospital Chelsea from June 25 to July 1 following a special preview day on Wednesday, June 24. Due to strict planning restrictions, Northamptonshire-based temporary structure company Neptunus had just two weeks to deliver 55 truckloads of its equipment to the historic grounds and build the exhibition space to accommodate the finest museum-quality works from over 150 international galleries.

Working closely with site-management company 20-20 Events to protect the grounds, Neptunus linked two of its clear span Evolution structures to form a massive exhibition hall measuring 85m x 135m for Stabilo International to fit-out and transform the interiors. These structures were further linked to a 10m x 85m Evolution II to create a grand entrance for the event that returns to London for its sixth year.

Neptunus also supplied a 15m x20m Alure structure to form fine-dining restaurant Le Caprice as well as a number of Alu Halls to accommodate an exhibitor lounge, lecture room, toilets, back-of-house catering facilities and storage.

‘The vision at Masterpiece has always been to create an environment which is enjoyable for our visitors and exhibitors, and which also creates an unparalleled experience for international collectors. Creating a temporary structure in which to house priceless works of art is no small undertaking and Neptunus are an important part of the logistical team that deliver Masterpiece and it's a pleasure to work with them', Nazy Vassegh, CEO of Masterpiece London.

April Trasler, Managing Director of Northamptonshire-based Neptunus UK, said: “We are delighted to continue our association with the prestigious Masterpiece London who recognise our ability to build sophisticated high-end venues within the confines of historic grounds in record time.

“Once again our technical team has meticulously planned our complex build schedule while working closely with the site management team to ensure the all-important landscape of the hospital grounds is not damaged during our build programme – involving several thousand tons of equipment transported on to the site.”

The 2015 event, which draws collectors and museum curators from around the world, will showcase work spanning over 4,000 years of art history, from antiquity to the present day. Significant additions to this year’s prestigious line-up includes fine art gallery Richard Green and David Gill Gallery from the UK, Van Cleef & Arpels and Parisian decorative arts dealer, Kraemer Gallery plus the Swiss Jacques de la Béraudière and Italy’s Nilufar.
