New Manager for Halton Chamber
Halton Chamber of Commerce and Enterprise, based at The Heath Business and Technical Park, has a new manager at the helm - Paula Cain, a former Chief Executive of Knowsley Chamber.
Paula, 50, will be taking over the day-to-day management of the Chamber from Eric Hudson to allow him time to concentrate on running his new North West website business, Regionplus. Eric will retain his connections with the Chamber as Vice Chairman. Paula brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to her new position having worked for Knowsley Chamber of Commerce for nearly 20 years. During that time she developed a range of new business initiatives and was successful in securing funding for a number of special projects, including international trade, business buddy and start-up programmes. In 2009 she was a finalist in the Merseyside Women of the Year awards. She said: “My ambition for Halton Chamber is to build on the great work achieved by Eric Hudson and other board members. I am keen to expand the membership, to add to our service offer and make Halton Chamber into a flagship organisation for business in Halton.” Halton Chamber Chairman Stephen Nickson welcomed her appointment and paid tribute to Eric Hudson’s considerable achievements. He said: “I would like to thank Eric Hudson for carrying out a sterling job of running the Chamber over the last two years. He has established and built up a regular business networking forum, 1st Tuesday, which regularly attracts more than 60 visitors. He has successfully delivered a ‘New Start’ programme through the Enterprise Halton Board and he has grown the Chamber membership during tough economic conditions whilst keeping a tight rein on spending. Eric will remain on the board in the capacity of Vice Chair and will continue to be proactive in the future success of the Chamber.” For more information about Halton Chamber of Commerce, visit the website www.haltonchamber.com or ring 01928 516142. The next 1st Tuesday breakfast network event will be held at The Heath Business and Technical Park, Runcorn on Tuesday 6th July, at 7.45am. The event is open to anyone in business and costs £10, including a cooked breakfast.
