World-class ‘makeover’ assignment for Runcorn beauty consultants

Runcorn’s top health and beauty consultant Yvonne Richards showcased her skills and expertise on the world stage thanks to four of the country’s most beautiful women.

Yvonne, proprietor of Taylor Richards Hair, Health & Beauty Salon based at The Heath Business and Technical Park, was commissioned to ‘make-over’ the UK’s four Mrs World 2009 contestants for an exclusive photo shoot prior to the annual international beauty pageant in Vietnam.

The four stunners – Hannah McCuaig (Mrs England 2009), Gemma Williams Fox (Mrs Wales 2009), Krupa Parmar Rao (Mrs Scotland 2009) and Melissa Dill-Behnke (Mrs Ireland 2009) – each needed a portfolio of studio photographs featuring four different looks for the competition.

Using the collagen-based Proto-col range of beauty products and cosmetics endorsed by Hollywood stars Jennifer Aniston and Lucy Lui, Yvonne and fellow beautician Jackie Brady gave the contestants the flawless, alluring and elegant look they requested.

“They loved the Proto-col products and the makeovers we did for them,” said Yvonne. “For the first photo session, we were asked to make the contestants look natural and give the effect of no make-up. They were each photographed wearing a crown and looking fresh faced.

“The second session required them to have a slightly glossier look, the third was a sexy shoot with the contestants in their swimsuits and the final session had them glamorous with full make-up.”

After the photo shoot, which took place at the prestigious Breadsall Priory County Club near Derby, Yvonne gave the contestants top tips on how to apply the Proto-col products and recreate the stunning looks for the judges in the Mrs World 2009 contest for married women.

Mrs England 2009 Hannah McCuaig described Yvonne’s makeover as ‘highly skilled and creating the looks we dreamed of’. She added: “It was the most fabulous makeover. We all had a wonderful experience.”

Yvonne said: “The contestants invited me to accompany them to Vietnam but I couldn’t because of work commitments.

“But with all four women using the Proto-col beauty products and our make-up tips, our cosmetics and expertise did get an airing on the world stage in Southeast Asia!”

Five hundred million people worldwide tuned into the Mrs World 2009 contest on November 23 which was won by 28-year-old Russian contestant Victoria Radochinskaya. Seventy-six married women from 75 countries and territories took part in the competition.

Taylor Richards Hair, Health & Beauty Salon has been operating from The Heath for seven years. It introduced the Proto-col beauty range to its clients a year ago because of its high quality and flawless results.

“The Heath is the ideal location for us. It has given us scope to expand the business in other areas. We are much more than a hair and beauty salon. We are called on to do photo shoots and television work, which is wonderful,” said Yvonne, who recently appeared on TV shopping channel Ideal Home with an hour-long demonstration on using and applying Proto-col beauty products.
