The National Flower Show springs into bloom at Hylands House

The first National Flower Show will take place in the spectacular setting of Hylands House from July 17-19 promising the perfect day out for garden enthusiasts.

Situated in the grounds of the stunning Grade II listed property in Chelmsford, Essex, the show will feature a selection of the UK’s finest growers where visitors can buy quality plants and products at special event prices.

It’s the perfect place to go if you are planning a garden makeover as local garden designers, paving and tree specialists will all be at the show to help create your own personal haven.

Experts including the much-loved garden designer, journalist and television personality Joe Swift will be on hand sharing their expertise on garden design in the specialist plants marquee.

And if you can't get your oleanders or bottlebrush to flower, or don't know how or when to prune them? Don't miss the chance to meet the show’s flowering shrub expert Paul Johnson. With more than 40 years’ experience and a wealth of knowledge on any shrub – especially the rare and unusual – Paul will answer any questions you may have.

Elsewhere the Craft and Gift Pavilion will be packed with hand-made jewellery, hand-made cards, shabby chic furniture, ladies fashion, botanical products and candles it is the perfect place to peruse the stands and pick up that unique gift for yourself or your loved ones. There will also be a local craft market - dedicated to local budding artists, craftsmen and designers. You will see beautiful handcrafted jewellery, metalwork and artwork all from the Chelmsford region.

The Food and Drink Festival is the perfect place to try delicious food from around the world while enjoying the sunshine. Sit back and relax in a deckchair while enjoying your ostrich burger or hummus with a glass of bubbly. Later on our cream tea pavilion is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the afternoon at The National Flower Show.
