Paul Smith Associates (PSA) is a consultancy that combines experience and expertise from both media (TV, radio, newspapers, magazines and the Internet) and public relations.
National, regional and local media experience
PSA was established in the late 1990s by two highly talented journalists whose previous careers had covered national, regional and local media, in high-profile roles that included editor, news editor, features editor, foreign editor and specialist reporter. PSA has subsequently strengthened its team by recruiting personnel with proven journalistic backgrounds including national and regional newspapers and magazines, online media, business-to-business newsletters, television and radio.
A network of journalists and photographers
The PSA network of associates includes freelance journalists and photographers with extensive experience of working in the UK and international media. These individuals work with us both on a day-to-day and assignment-by-assignment basis, providing our clients with editorial and images of the very highest quality.
The skills and experience of its team means PSA can also offer much more than just the traditional PR services. It can also provide support in co-ordinating campaigns, helping clients tender for new business, offering media training and lobbying for changes in the law or government policy.

With excellent contacts across all aspects of the media, he has achieved impressive results for PSA's clients. From account management to co-ordinating complex campaigns, he has a wealth of experience to call upon. Paul has organised many high-profile visits for his clients - from senior Government figures to royalty, respected business leaders and commentators. He has also masterminded the launch of an exciting consumer show as well as co-ordinating communications on a major regeneration project at a large industrial site in London.
A master tactician, Paul aims to achieve excellent results for his clients in a competitive environment through strategic thinking, building trust and nurturing relationships with his clients and an impressive range of media organisations. Paul has held senior executive posts at many of Britain's leading national groups including Associated Newspapers, Express Newspapers and Mirror Group. He has worked as a news reporter, feature writer, foreign editor, news editor and editor.

Debbie Smith, PSA Director
PSA Director Debbie Smith enjoyed a highly successful career in regional and national media. Along with general news expertise, Debbie covered areas including finance, health, travel and showbiz.
Debbie specialises in liaising with target publications to maximise publicity opportunities for the client, an approach which has been used to tremendous effect with newspapers, lifestyle magazines and specialist trade titles. With outstanding strategic and analytical skills, Debbie is also an expert in media training and crisis management. She has acted as media adviser to many high-profile international companies, including the global shipping, oil and energy sectors.
